World Chess Team Championship Lineup Complete



The FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has made a final decision in granting the sole vacant place in the World Chess Team Championship to Azerbaijan, reports Armchess.am. The Armenia Team who won the title in China 2011 will have to defend its title once again in Antalya, Turkey from November 24 to December 6.

The 10 participants of the championship are: Armenia (Winner 2011), Russia (2012 Olympiad), Turkey (Host Country), The Netherlands (2012 Olympiad), Azerbaijan, Ukraine (2012 Olympiad), Germany (Europe Qualifier), the United States (Amerika Qualifier), China (Asia Qualifier) and Egypt (Africa Qualifier).

The championships will be played using a 9-round-robin system. Each team will play a match against all other teams. Time control for the event is 90 minutes per 40 moves +30 minutes per end, + 30 seconds increment per move, starting from move 1. Each match will be scored by match points. Winner will have 2 points, a draw will give each team 1 point while a loss will be 0 points.
