Alekhine Round 5

White Twentieth Move

Fressinet outplayed Kramnik and took advantage of his slow development in the game yesterday at the sixth round of Alekhine Memorial tourney with 1.Nf3 d5 2.g3 Nc6 This uncommon variation against Queen’s Gambit by Fressinet definitely puts pressure on Kramnik. Also the French’s sixth move pawn sacrifice and twenty-fifth move bishop sacrifice on f2 giving way for his pawn to the promise land. I guess that Alekhine bones would rustle in his grave to this killer move. What an impressive game by Fressinet.
